"Very harmonious, with the finely detailed texture and delicate acidity providing a crystalline frame for notes of dried cherry, wild strawberry, light biscuit, lemon zest and spice. This is all about subtlety and grace. Drink now through 2026. 1,200 cases imported." (WS)

"The 2006 Brut Rose is flat-out delicious. It boasts gorgeous inner perfume, striking fruit and exceptional overall balance. This is a hugely delicious wine that at once shows the delicate and more powerful sides of Rose Champagne, if that makes sense. The wine can be enjoyed as an aperitif, but it also has more than enough richness to stand up to a range of foods. I loved it. The NV Brut Rose is 70% Pinor Noir from Cumieres and 30% Chardonnay. The Chardonnay was added to a saignee of Pinot Noir before fermentation. About 12% of the blend was fermented in oak, and the malolactic fermentation was entirely blocked. This is Lot # L034356G100383. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018.

Roederer is one of my favorite Champagne houses. Every wine that emerges from this cellar in Reims is impeccable. The attention to detail here is evident from the moment I walk in the door. As usual Chef de Caves Jean-Baptiste Lecaillon prepared the most thorough tasting of vins claires of my stay in Champagne earlier in the year. The most fascinating part of that tasting was going through wines from vineyards that had issues and learning exactly why they would be culled out from final blends. As much as I admire Roederer, I wish the winery would be more transparent with readers when it comes to their NV offering. According to Lecaillon, back labels that can be read by smart phones are in the works, but giving consumers more information on NV blends and disgorgement dates really doesn’t require such a complicated solution. There are just a handful of new releases this year, as Roederer has decided to wait a bit before releasing the 2005 Cristal and Cristal Rose." (WA)

"(made from 66% pinot noir and 34% chardonnay; L03435661000385): Pale orange color. Aromas of redcurrant, orange zest and anise, with high-pitched spice and floral notes adding complexity. Taut and mineral-driven, with bright red fruit flavors and notes of bitter orange, anise and white pepper. Juicy acidity provides energy and lift to the long, spicy finish. I'd give this awfully young Champagne a little time to unwind. " (IWC)

Winery Notes:
"Soft pink color with orangey nuances. Dynamic, creamy bubbles in a long-lasting flow. Immediately after opening, the bouquet of this Brut Rosé 2006 releases intense, complex aromas: first of all fruity (strawberry, vine peach) then floral (sap, sweet flower, pollen) and mineral (chalk). On airing, citrus aromas appear (with a particularly dominant zest) along with gingerbread, so typical of Roederer rosés. Tasting reveals an energetic, racy wine, which is firm and above all elegant. It has the firm structure of the Cumières Pinot Noir which, as usual, manifests itself immediately and unreservedly, in its charming, meaty and dense register - but the characteristic elegance of Louis Roederer wines predominates, thanks to the smooth bubbles associated with precise flavors and a ‘taut’ mineral freshness. This almost paradoxical blend combines an intense energy ‘interwoven’ with a rich, almost ‘proud’ material, accompanied by a swirl of velvety flavors. The long-lasting flavor experience ends on a note of pure minerality... and time stands still!” – Jean Baptiste Lécaillon, Head Winemaker & Executive Vice President of Production
