2008 Bordeaux Futures

Summarizing Parker’s comments on the vintage….”2008 had all the qualities that make an excellent, and in some cases a great vintage so special: exceptionally dark opaque colors, gorgeously ripe fruit, stunning purity almost across the board, great freshness, slightly higher acids than normal, and remarkable density as well as concentration. In 2008, the tannins are unusually velvety. The vintage is vastly superior to 2007, 2006, 2004, 2003 (with some exceptions in that unusual vintage), 2002, 2001 and 1999.”

With the exception of the First Growths, the following list offers the wines everyone is focusing on, both here and elsewhere in the world. They represent the best combination of sheer quality, scores, name recognition, and most importantly price. Speaking of price, ALL of these wines are well below their normal selling prices, some by more than 50%. These Chateaus were listening to the market and priced their wines very low considering the quality.
