"The 2009 Chardonnay Sea Smoke is another of the more subtle, mineral-driven Chardonnays in this lineup. Sweet floral aromatics lead to citrus peel, white flowers and crushed rocks. The Sea Smoke balances its prominent minerality with gorgeous mid-palate fleshiness and a delicate, perfumed finish. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2018.

No one has done more to carry the banner for the Santa Rita Hills than Greg Brewer and Steve Clifton. Both together at Brewer-Clifton and separately in their other projects, Brewer and Clifton consistently deliver delicious wines that are also deeply thought provoking with regards to the potential these vineyard sites hold. The Pinots in particular are compelling. The 2009 Pinots saw a seven day cold soak and fermentations that lasted a total of 35-40 days, with 100% stems." (WA)

"($52) Bright yellow. Showing more power on the nose and in the mouth than the 3-D, offering impressions of ripe melon, nectarine, honey and truffle, with a sneaky note of chalk. Becomes spicier with air and finishes with serious grip and a strong echo of orchard and sweet citrus fruits." (IWC)
