NEW LOWER PRICE!!
"Ripe and spicy, offering peach, apple and apricot flavors flanked by notes of slate and mineral, with a fat finish. Drink now through 2018. 20,000 cases imported." (WS)
"Also recommended, but no tasting note given.
Robert Eymael seemed highly satisfied with his 2010 collection; though I perceived the quality as in a holding pattern vis-a-vis what had seemed to be steadily enhanced quality at this address the last several years. De-acidification was largely in must and via double-salt treatment." (WA)
Winery Notes:
Estate: Founded in 1177 by monks, the Mönchhof estate (monk’s house)
was acquired by the Eymael family in 1804 from Napoleon. Today,
Robert Eymael leads the estate recognized for its high quality from the
entry level Estate Riesling to the fi nest single vineyard wines.
Tasting note: A blend of the fruit from Roberts’s Ürzig, Zeltingen, and
Erden properties. Wonderful iron mineral details in the nose. On the
palate, the wine exhibits a refreshing citrus component with pear and
white peach fruit. Perhaps the juiciest QbA Robert has produced to date.
The fruit is bright, focused and very crystalline in style.
Food aaffinity: Great to enjoy on its own, but also great with salads and
spicy dishes or fusion cuisine. |
