"An understated version, with a fine bead and bright, well-meshed acidity supporting subtle flavors of white raspberry, Meyer lemon zest, ground ginger and blanched almond. The mineral-tinged finish shows a hint of brine. Drink now through 2018. 30,000 cases imported. -A.N." (WS)
"Rotari is the sparkling wine division of the Mezzacorona co-operative that sources fruit from a large swath of the Trentino region. It is among the biggest sponsors of the TrentoDOC denomination used to identify Italian metodo classico sparkling wine.
The non-vintage Trento Metodo Classico Brut is a familiar wine to all who have seen its bright yellow label in wine shops and supermarkets across the country. A pure expression of Chardonnay, it shows yeasty notes of baked baguette and apricot with tangy citrus and drying mineral at the back. This is a well-made sparkler that definitely delivers the goods." (WA)
"Festive and less formal, this is a luminous sparkler with ripe melon, peach and toasted nutty notes that hits all the right marks. Nicely tart on the close with clean flavors and tight structure. The price tag is on target, too." (WE)
The Rotari Arte Italiana is a combination of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Nero grapes that are grown in the hills of the Adige Valley north of Trento.
